What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies (such as local storage) for strictly necessary and optional purposes described below.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the service to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems.

Analytics (when enabled)
When product analytics is enabled on deployed environments, we collect usage data as described in our Privacy Policy. Your choices below apply to **both** PostHog and **Vercel Web Analytics** (cookieless page-view traffic on Vercel deployments).
PostHog (cookies / local storage)
When PostHog is enabled (production when configured), we use cookies or local storage to:
- Measure page views and product flows.
- Capture client-side errors for reliability monitoring.
- Remember your analytics and cookie consent choices.

Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies)
Vercel Web Analytics collects cookieless page-view and traffic metrics on Vercel-hosted deployments when enabled in our Vercel project. It is gated by the same **Product analytics** toggle and cookie notice as PostHog; it does not set advertising cookies.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Cookie consent notice
On your first visit, chamelAIn shows a cookie and analytics notice at the bottom of the app. It explains strictly necessary cookies (Supabase session) versus optional analytics (PostHog and Vercel Web Analytics) and links to this policy and our Privacy Policy.
You can **Accept**, **Reject non-essential**, or **Manage preferences** (enable or disable product analytics before saving). Your choice is stored in your browser (`pf:analytics-consent-decision` and `pf:analytics-opt-out`).
**Regional defaults:**
- **EEA, UK, and Switzerland:** product analytics stays off until you accept.
- **United States and other regions:** product analytics may run when you load the app; you can reject non-essential cookies at any time.
If you clear site data, the notice may appear again.
How to control cookies
- **Necessary cookies:** required for authentication; clearing them signs you out.
- **Analytics:** open Settings → Preferences and toggle **Product analytics**, or use the cookie notice on your next visit after clearing site data.
- **Browser controls:** most browsers let you block or delete cookies; blocking necessary cookies will break sign-in.
