Welcome to chamelAIn. This guide orients you on the dashboard and helps you activate your first persona.
Sign in and open the dashboard
- Go to Sign in and create an account or log in with your existing credentials.
- After authentication you land on the dashboard — your home for personas, MCP connect, and search.
Activate your first persona
New accounts receive five official starters saved to My Personas automatically. To use one in your AI app:
- Open My Personas from the sidebar (or the dashboard).
- Find a starter and click Activate (or use Save and activate from the Marketplace if you are browsing there).
- Activated personas are available through MCP once you connect your client.
You can also browse the Marketplace for community listings — use Save to my personas first, then activate from My Personas.
Connect MCP (recommended next step)
To use personas inside your AI app, connect via MCP:
- On the dashboard, find the MCP CONNECT panel.
- Search for your app (for example Cursor) and click Connect with OAuth — recommended (sign in once; your client keeps you connected).
- Follow the steps in Connect MCP clients.
Use personas in your AI app
After MCP is connected, load a persona in chat with the `#<tag>` shorthand — for example, `#clarity-architect help me write acceptance criteria`. Your client calls chamelAIn's `get_persona` tool and applies that persona's instructions for your task.
See Connect MCP clients for activation shorthand, version pins (`tag@v2`), and how publisher, personal, and session memories combine.
What you can do next
- Read Stop AI roulette: build a shared AI playbook for the team-standards framing behind roles and share links.
- Build a custom persona with the persona builder.
- Browse the marketplace for curated starters and community listings.
- Manage profile and settings including security and MCP access keys.
- Install the browser extension to share active personas as one-time links. If your build is below the platform minimum version, the popup shows a soft update prompt (it does not hard-block use).
